Stomata are deep seated in xerophytic plants to prevent loss of water through the process of transpiration.
This is because we know that the xerophytic plants grow in a area with less water available around. This is due to the water's presence underground and not being near to the ground they need to save water for their own purposes. So they are deep seated .
