When we see the Sun at sunrise or sunset, when it is low in the sky, it may appear yellow, orange, or red. But that is only because its short-wavelength colors (green, blue, violet) are scattered out by the Earth's atmosphere, much like small waves are dispersed by big rocks along the shore.

If u r asking for sunrise of sunset then the answer is :
At the time of sunrise or sunset when the sun is near the Horizon ,the sunlight has to travel the larger distance through the atmosphere to reach us .During this long journey of Sunlight, most of the shorter wavelength blue- colour present in it is scattered out and away from our line of sight so the sun reaching us at the time of sunrise or sunset consists mainly of largest wavelength and we find it as red or yellow.
