all the animals wether carnivorous or herbivorous depend directly or indirectly on plants and plants aqquire food (energy) from the sun. as well microorganisms get energy from decomposition of these animals or plants. therefore sun is the ultimate source of energy

the sun is the ultimate source of energy on the earth's surface . it is like a power house which generates and gives out energy in the form of light and heat . this energy which is constantly emitted by the sun is known as solar energy . we also recieve many other forms of energy like UV rays etc.
