The African continent is mainly constituted of deserts like Sahara and Kalahari desert. Therefore, the sand there does not support agriculture. The vegetation there mainly consists of Xerophytic plants such as Cactus and Acacia. Some parts of Africa such as the regions near River Nile etc support agriculture as the soil there is fertile.
