Answer:

Division of Bengal was going to shaped a Muslim-majority province, the East Bengal. The leading Hindus of West Bengal, who were gathered taxes from Poor Muslims would now lose their impact in the new province.British Government decided to divide the province in 1905 so, they could provide better health and education facilities. They, therefore, disallowed the judgement and launched a series of fierce strikes and protests against the division. The tide of rage quickly reached to other region of India. The response was so robust that it gave birth to the growth of radicalism. A number of small radical groups came into being that flung attacks on the British bureaucrats. They thrived in murder a few ones. Lord Minto, the future viceroy, run-away an assassination attempt. Many radicals were confined for long time, but the condition was disturbing to the British government. The Hindus called this scheme ‘divide and rule’, a strategy to capture the growth of “Indian nationalism” (SikandarHayat 2016).
