Plant or animal food that we eat contains a part that our body cannot digest that part is known as a dietary fiber.

It is essential because it play any important functions in our body:-

1. Helping in the smooth and fast movement of the food through digestive system. 

2. Regulate blood cholesterol that lowers the chance of heart diseases.

3. Regulate blood sugar.

4. It helps in preventing constipation by increasing the volume of stool in our body. Therefore, people who include a lot of dietary fibres in their diet suffer from fewer problems of constipation. They help in retaining water in the body. They help in getting rid of undigested food.
