Actually there is no scientific reason behind it .... when the solar system was formed it is in third place since then only ....

The answer to this question is simple.
Human being live on a planet.
They named the planet as earth.
The planet is located in the third from the sun in the solar system.
So it is just that human live on a planet that is third in the solar system. Had we named the planet we live on as something else(e.g water
which is actually a better name as it covers about 70% of the planet.) water would have been the third planet.
And if we are so close or so far then we all know that most of the things like air, water, atmosphere would not be present on the earth.
