why the farmer killed the snake in last in the poem Snake ?

The snake was not killed by the poet in the poem. He just threw a clumsy log onto it. This act was committed by the poet as the voice of education in him asked him to do so. The poet later felt sorry for his deed.

The poet didnt kill the snake
He threw a log at it and it ran away...
