Why the ice floats over water

When water convert into ice the mass of water is equal but it's volume increase due the presence of many small pore filled with air, the it's density become lower then density of water.

so, ice float over water.

Main reasons are:-)

❄ Ice can float on water because density of ice is less than density of water.

#) ln solid state one water molecule can associate with four other water molecules due to presence of two lone pairs and two hydrogen atoms in one water molecule. The volume becomes my due to which density decreases .

[One water molecule is attached with other for water molecules as shown in figure with the help of hydrogen bonding].
