In any physical or chemical process the total amount of matter before the reaction and after the reaction of a closed system is same. It implies that matter is indestructible.

according to  law  ofconservation of mass there is no increase or decrease in total mass of matter during a chemical or a physical change.

In other words, “Matter can neither be created nor destroyed.”So this law is also known as
“Law of Indestructibility of Matter”.
