HLO........

The reason is........

the lemon juice is acidic in nature .the metal vessels are basic in nature as metal form oxides when exposure to air or o2.so, when lemon juice ( acidic) kept in metal vessels (basic) then neutralization reaction takes place and formation of salt takes place and this salt may be poisonous or not.

the chemical reaction is...

let the metal vessel is copper vessel so,

copper oxide = CuO

citric acid = C6H8O7.H2O

CuO+C6H8O7.H2O -->>2CH3H4O4+H2O+CU

amitvikram1: ok give me some time i have confusions in your equation
amitvikram1: thank s

Answer:

Because it's an acid and it recaps with the metal and releases Hydrogen gas which makes it toxic.
