Why the motor may be jammed

Motors can jam due to bearing dirt or failure. Motor rotors can be locked in place due to a jammed load. If in doubt, separate the motor from its load to determine where the fault lies. Jamming can also occur if a motor with intentional longitudinal movement is mounted the wrong way up.
