the reasons for the low per capita income of steel in India are:
1. the steel produced is mostly for international markets
2. 72% of the population of the country is situated in villages where there is not much use for steel
3.lack of domestic market.(market for steel within the country)
4.the lack of infrastructure does not allow more use of steel in industries.
5.lack of development in rural areas , lack of means of transport makes it difficult to deliver steel in backward areas.
hope this helps you !!^_^
