Diffusion is the spontaneous movement of molecules of a matter or the mixing of two or more substances. Diffusion can take place efficiently when particles have enough interparticular space in between them and they can easily show movement. Kinetic energy should be high for easy movement. Lesser the interparticular force of attarction, more is the diffusion.

The Gases diffuse more faster than solid becuase the kinetic energy of the molecules of gases are much more higher than that of solid. Gases can easily intermix with one another. They have large interparticular spaces between their molecules with gives spaces to other molecules to accumulate in them. They Gases can easily flow in any directions. It shows High fluidity whereas solids are rigid. Most importantly, the molecules of hases have very small force of attarction between them, hence it can be easily broke. But in solids, the molecules have high intermolecular force of attarction ,thus they are very hard to break.

▶️ So, we can conclude that diffusion depends upon the nature of substances. That is the reason why diffusion is faster in gases than in solids.
