The amount of dissolved oxygen in water is fairly low compared to the amount of oxygen in the air. Therefore, rate of breathing in aquatic organisms is much faster than in terrestrial organisms.

Dear user ❤️

Nice question ❤️

● The rate of breathing is comparatively low in aquatic animals than terrestrial animals because the amount of water is much less.

● And the amount of oxygen dissolved on land is much more than water.

● As oxygen in the atmosphere is about 20.3% , than in water.

● So, they have to breathe more in order to get more oxygen.

Thanks ❤️

Keep asking :))
