1)This revolt let the path and developed the feeling of nationalism in the minds of people.
2)This is also known as SEPOY MUTINY and this term was used by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
3)This was the first combined effort made by all indians against the British raj.
4)The uprising was very big and united that haven't happened before.
5)Though it didn't helped in that way because everyone was fighting for their own reasons but it was the first step in revolt against british that inspired other Indians.

The revolt of 1857 is also known as the Sepoy Mutiny and the First War of Independence. This term was used by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the year 1909. The revolt was called so because it was the first time that a combined effort had been made by the Indian nationals against the British.
