This occurs due to Refraction of Atmosphere of Earth.

When Sun rises or sets, it's position is like this that Rays coming from Sun gets refracted by our Earth's Atmosphere and Red colour scatters the most as it's intensity of scattering is less. That's why we see red sky at the time of sun rise and sunset.
