A clear cloudless day-time sky is bluebecause molecules in the air scatterblue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we looktowards the sun at sunset, we see redand orange colours because the bluelight has been scattered out and away from the line of sight.

Nyc answer but the wavelength of the red is more than the wavelength of voilet therefore more the wavelength less refraction and less the wavelength more the refraction and hence voilet isnt sensitive to human eyes voilet appears to be blue ... And hence the sky appears blue during day and the light gets scattered over and the remaining is red and hence during. Evening the sky appears red or orange to us...
