why the sky will appear only black in colour in the absence of atmosphere .

The sky will appear black in colour in absensce of atmosphere because atmosphere is required to scatter sunlight. If the sunlight is not scattered because of absensce of atmosphere, the the sky will appear balck to us.


This is why, the sky appear black to astronauts as well because their is no atmosphere in outer space to scatter the sunlight.
