why the temperature of boiling water does not rise even though heat is being given continously?

The boiling point of water is 100°c .So the water gets evaporated exactly at 100°c .so even though the temperature is increased there will no change.

Because the heat energy is consumed in changing the state of water an icrease in its potential energy at 100 degree celcius
