Now, ‘pair’ means 2, ‘dozen’ means 12… and ‘degree’ means pi/180. It’s different in that it’s not an integer… but multiplication works just as well with pi/180 as it does with 2 and 12. 180 degrees is 180 times pi/180 (=pi) in the same way 180 pairs is 180 times 2 (=360).
