why there is no friction in space? then why debris of space shuttle is seen when it's re-entry

Here is ur answer.....
Its design is much lower in density than the space shuttle, once it has used up its fuel to get into orbit. So it slows down in the atmosphere at higher altitudes on the way down.

Existence of friction is completely dependent on the existence of two substances ,even one of the substances is just air,the friction is possible.
But in the void space there is no air or any other surface to create the frictional forces.
But when the spacecrafts re-enter the surface of spacecrafts get damaged because in the lower orbitals of the earth,there is a short amount of air which helps to create the frictional force.
