Why there is no permanent human settlement in the South Polar Region?

There is no permanent settlement in South polar region as it is full of ice and there is no crop. The conditions there are not suitable for human survival. The continent in South polar region is Antarctica. There is another continent to which lies in Southern hemisphere it is Australia. Hop this helps you.mark me as BRAINLIST.

Answer:- There is no human settlement in the south polar region because of the following :

i) The harsh and cold weather where temperature falls below 40 degree centigrade and the frequent occurrence of snow storm makes it unsuitable for human.

ii) The unavailability of proper food and shelter also makes it unsuitable. The crops cannot grow here due to cold weather and proper materials are not available for making a shelter.

Australia and Antarctica are the two continents which lies completely in the southern hemisphere.
