why these terms : sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic, republic are used for India

SOVEREIGN (समप्रभु) : It means that no other country can interfere in the national matters of country. That is the country is fully independent.

SOCIALIST (समाजवादी) : A Socialist country is a country where the government or the public as a whole has control over the economy.

SECULAR (धर्म निरपेक्ष) : It means there is not any national religion of country. The country respect all the religion equally.

REPUBLIC (गणतंत्र) : It means the government of the country is by the people, of the people and for the people. The citizens have right to choose their representatives and the final decision making power resides with those who are elected by the citizens.

DEMOCRATIC (लोकतांत्रिक) : It follow the principle of Republic but also add some new features too, such as all citizens are equal before law, the constitution is the supreme power, etc.
