Why thick fur on yak

because yaks are found in polar regions, which are extremely cold. The thick fur have hollow hairs which trap air ( as air a bad conductor of heat) and keep the its body warm.

The habitat of animals like yak is in a extreme cold climatic condition. In such cases a thick fur is necessary for a living organism to put on and overcome all the extreme situations of the place because a thick fur can help in the survival of yak by keeping it warm.
