Tropical Cyclones are low pressure point and wind from surrounding high pressure area moves and rotates around the low pressure point. The Tropical Cyclones orginate in Tropical region in both hemisphere. Origin of tropical cyclones need warm water bodies wjere temperature is more that 26 degree celsius. Continuous supply of warm moisture is needed for the condensation in upper atmosphere which releases more latent heat of condensation this process will result into vertical column, calm wind condition is needed. Answer:

Tropical cyclones form over large bodies of relatively warm water, which increases the suitability of the South China Sea, Bay of Bengal and Gulf of Mexico for the formation of tropical cyclones. ... This is due to the fact that the Coriolis forces, which helps the tropical cyclones rotate, is very weak near the equator.
