Tsar Nicholas II was an Aristocrat and an inefficient ruler. He believed in total monarchy and kept all the powers in his hands. He forced the army to involve in the first world war which created a deep loss to Russian society. When Tsar left for the war, he handed over all his powers to Tsarina. Her German origins and the monk Rasputin who actually administered the country had a bad effect on Monarchy
