Uranium is called a potential resource when there is no known commercial way to extract it economically. The nuclear industry will often list potential uranium in an effort to avoid the horrible fact that uranium will start to run short in about 2025, and that’s according to the IAEA.

  • It can be used in the impending future with enhanced technology that can facilitate in better exploiting the uranium present in Ladakh.  
  • Presently, the technology we have is not sophisticated enough to entirely use it, therefore making uranium deposits in Ladakh only a potential resource .
