Why vasopression is called antj diuretic hoemone?

hey mate here is ur ans
vasopressin perform many fuction i.e.
it act mainly in the kidney and stimulate the reabsorbtion of water and electrolytes from the distal tubule ( dct CT and collecting duct) and prevent the excess loss of the water ( diuresus) hence it is known as diuretic harmone
