Speed is a scalar and velocity is a vector....

so we understand speed is just a value and independent of direction...

whereas velocity is not...

velocity depends on direction.

even though its magnitude(value) may be the same it may change with any change in direction

Answer:

We know that velocity is the speed in a distinct direction. Therefore velocity depends on displacement covered in one unit time and the direction it changes its position. If a body is moving with constant speed but changes its direction ,it's velocity will be changed. Thus, velocity need not to be constant if the speed is constant.

Explanation:

If an object is moving in a circular path in constant speed but it's direction will be changed in every point. That's why here speed is constant but velocity is not.
