why VIBGYOR does not changes its pattern??

A rainbow has seven colors because water droplets in the atmosphere break sunlight into seven colors.When light leaves one medium and enters another, the light changes its propagation direction and bends. Ordinary white light like sunlight is made up of many different colours.

Each colour is associated with light of a particular wavelength. Red light haslonger wavelengths than the blue light. The angle of deviation by a prism is not the same for all the wavelength (colours) of light. Hence the prism disperses white light into itsconstituent colours
