virus is not a living organism due to following reasons:-
1) they are complicated assemblies of molecules, including proteins and carbohydrates, but on their own they can do nothing until they enter a living cell.
2) Without entering cells, viruses would not be able to multiply.
3) Hence, virus outside is crystal or non-living and while entering a cell, it is living.
hope this will help you.
