why viruses are not suppossed to be living?

1. Virus can reproduce and multiply only in living cells. They do not show any sign of living beings, outside of living cell.
2. They do not show respiration and metabolism.
3. They do not show any cellular structure.
4. They are like a molecule.
5. They can be crystallized like non-living things.

Viruses are not considered "alive" because they lack many of the properties that scientist associate with living organisms. Primarily, they lack the ability to reproduce without the aid of a host cell,and don't use the typical cell- division approach to replication.
