here is your answer
as you know voltmeter is used to measure the voltage or the potential difference of the two conductor moves in unit positive charge so the reason is it is in parallel to experience the pd
n

ammeter is used to measure the current pass through a conductor in a circuit this is necessary bcoz objects in series having same current
hope it will help you
have a great day ahead

ANS. THIS IS BECAUSE A VOLTMETER HAS VERY HIGH RESISTANCE AND IF IT IS CONNECTED IN SERIES THEN IT WOULD CONSUME ALL THE CURRENT BUT AN AMMETER HAS LOW RESISTANCE AND IF IT IS CONNECTED IN PARALLEL THEN ALL THE CURRENT WOULD FLOW THROUGH AMMETER AND NOTHING WOULD FLOW IN THE CIRCUIT.
