Why voltmeter is connected in parallel combination

Because in parallel combination of resistors, inductors or capacitors, the voltage remains constant.

While ammeter is connected in series as current remains constant in series combination.

He voltmeter is connected parallel (||) accross the end of resistors because as it is connected parallal then it will take a neglizable cutrent from the circuit
