why was a system called rakhi introduced?
Answers
In the beginning periods, the Rakhi or protection was looked for by the general population from the Sikhs and later, so as to bring more domains under the rakhi system, the offer of rakhi was made to the general population of the towns and towns of Punjab and was effectively sought after by the Sikhs, as a normal component of their exercises.
The word rake truly signifies 'protection' and in practice, it was a tribute gotten by the Sikhs for the protection gave or ensured by them against outside hostility to the general population paying it.
The conditions which prompted the making of this system were related with the ascent of the Sikhs power.
