Ashoka was a king of the mauryan empire .he wasa unique ruler because he defeated many rulers but his last war that is in kalinga war ,after a feirce battle he defeated them.but after seeing the death, sufferingand sorrowness he decided never to battle a war again and devote his rest of his life to serve his peaple.he embraced buddhism after the kalinga war.
