The control of Atlantic Ocean was essential to the Success of Great Britain in World War II as being an island nation it was dependent on shipping for the supplies it needed. The supplies like military, food, weapons etc from America and other allies mainly came through Atlantic Ocean and thus the control over it was essential to the success of Britain.
