The green revolution took place due to various reasons.It took place after the WWII to address food shortages in developing countries The main motto of the movement was the expansion of farming land, using seed leading to better productivity, etc.

The green revolution began after the 2nd World War.It was adopted due to scarcity of food.Hence, there was large production of crops by using artificial fertilizers,pesticides and HYV (high yielding variety)seeds.
