shifting cultivation is a process of primitive cultivation in which first, a plot of land is selected which partially or thickly forested. theses are cut and burned down, the ashes of these trees were used to fertilize the soil. crops were then cultivated here. when the fertility of the soil was used up, they move to another plot and repeat this process, thus the name shifting cultivation.

this method is now banned as it causes deforestation on a large scale. this results in loss of habitat for animals. forest produce is wasted. fertility of the soil is gradually reduced.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.
