Bastille was stormed because  there were rumors that the Louis 16 had sent army men and ordered them for open fire. to fight with that army they wanted ammunition and for that, they stormed the Bastille. there was also another reason. the Bastille symbolized the power of king and the people of France wanted to take revolt from the king for atrocities (atyachar) by the king upon them. so they stormed the royal prison Bastille.
