Why was the city of Paris on the state of alarm on the morning of 14 July 1789

because the king that is louis XVI commanded the troops to move into the city. Rumors spread that the troops were coming to fire upon the citizens. So some men and women gathered to form a people's militia and stormed the fortress prison Bastille and found hoarded ammunition.
They also killed the commander of Bastille and released 7 prisoners.

1.At the morning of 14th july 1789 paris was in the state of alarm because there war a rumour that the King ordered his troops to open fire upon citizens.
2.the citizens of paris formed a people's militia and destroyed building in search of arms.
3.the people destroy the palace of versailles and released the culprits.
