The Human is the master of the body and controls each and every action. It weights around 1.5-1.75 kg. The brain and the spinal cord together form the CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM (CNS).The main job of the brain is to think. The human brain has many parts and each part has a specific functions.
Writing, talking, moving a chair etc are examples of voluntary actions. The brain is also involved in sending messages to the muscles.
•The main part of the brain is the cerebrum and is responsible for voluntary actions and other things such as thinking, recognising etc.
•The second main part is Cerebellum. It is also known as the little brain. The cerebellum is responsible for maintaining the balance and equibrillium of the human body and for other actions like holding your mobile phone in the hands.
•Next we have Pons which is responsible for dreaming, respiration, bladder control, facial expressions and sensations.
•Medulla Oblongata is responsible for involuntary actions like vomitting, heart beating, blood pressure, and digestion.
•The pitutary Gland is known as the master gland and is responsible for the secretion of the growth harmone.
•The Hypothalamus is links the nervous system with endocrine system via pituitary gland.
•The cranium is the hard bony box inside which the brain resides. The shock absorbing fluid is responsible for , as the name suggests for absorption of electric shock. Both the skull and the fluid together protect the brain.
•The last part is Thalamus has the duty to relay sensory signals.
