1.The reason that the jacket was so important to Martha was because it one thing that she worked for all eight years of school, that she put in all that time and effort to achieve it and she wasn’t allowed to tryout for sports

.2.The argument between the two teachers about cheating Martha out of the jacket that she earned, also when she went to talk to the principle about the jacket costing 15 dollars this year.

3.The overheard conversation was the many new emotion that Martha felt throughout the story and the internal conflicts that all the characters has nit just Martha.

4.The school change it so that Martha wouldn’t be able to afford it and the Joann would be able to winner it. This was important because we see all of Martha ‘s emotion, and the internal conflicts of the teachers and principle about doing the right thing not just cause of one students father
