Roe v. Wade was a 1973 landmark decision by the US Supreme Court. The decision called Roe V. Wade decision was very important for feminists because of following reasons:
1. The court ruled that a state law that banned abortions (except to save the life of the mother) was totally unconstitutional and punishable under the law.
2. This ruling made abortion legal in many conditions now.
3. The decision also said that a woman's right to privacy is now extended to the fetus/unborn child, she was carrying, as well.
4. In the view of the court, during the first trimester an abortion was no more dangerous than carrying the fetus or the unborn child till birth expected in last trimester.
