The dwarf was jealous of Gulliver because before Gulliver's arrival, he was the shortest stature giant in Brobdingnag on account of which he was admired the most in the Queen's court. But ever since Gulliver had arrived at the court, he was the center of attraction for everyone. The dwarf could not bear it. Gulliver often outsmarted him with his wit. In order to hurt Gulliver, he threw him in a bowl of cream. If Glumdalclitch would not rescue him, he would surely have drowned in cream. After this incident, the Queen banished the dwarf for Gulliver's safety.
