Hey mate,

Following his involvement in the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the British exiled him toRangoon in British-controlled Burma (now in Myanmar), after convicting him on several charges. Zafar's father, Akbar II, had been imprisoned by the British and he was not his father's preferred choice as his successor.

Bahadur Shah Zafar II breathed his last in a shabby wooden house in Rangoon (now Yangon) in 1862. That very day, his British captors buried him in an unmarked grave in a compound near the famous Shwedagon Pagoda.
