mandal commision or secondary backward classes was set up in 1979 .the head of this commission was b.p. mandal.it was set up to determine to identify the socially and educationally backward classes of india.it had recommended to the govt. of india that 27%of
govt. jobs are reserved for the socially and educationally backward classes of india .the reports were discussed in the parliament of india and on 6th august 1990 ,the recommendation was implemented.
