The boy's devotion and their willingness towards each and every work which they did, touched the narrator deeply. He was greatly impressed by their selfless attitude towards their sister and the sense of high nobility and self - dignity that clearly surpasses their tender ages of twelve and thirteen.
The narrator even saw a ray of hope in them for the human society. The two boys had set a great example by showing this kind of maturity and nobleness in their demeanor. The two boys have made the readers rethink as to what it actually means to be a gentlemen in the modern world. Through the character of Nicola and Jacopo, the author brings to light the magnanimity of one's heart and the nobleness of purpose with which any person does various kinds of jobs that actually makes him a gentleman.
The story even presents a humanist point of view to the readers.
Thanks !!!
