the narrator visited Mrs dorlings house the second time when her first visit was not of much use Mrs dorlings daughter opened the door nd told the narrator the former is busy. however the narrator insisted on waiting she saw all her mothers belonging lies ina very tasteless manner which was painfull for considering the fact that how much her own mother cared for these. she decides to leave without waiting for Mrs dorling thinking about that none of these things will be able to bring back her loved ones nor will give hee any mental peace.

When the narrator saw all her mother's belongings being used by Mrs. Dorling from the very time she took them, instead of being kept closed and safe in a corner awaiting the narrator, it was very painful for her to consider the fact that all the things were now of no use to her, since these could not bring peace to her mind. Therefore, she left the house without taking anything and resolved to forget the address.
